Independent Contractor or Employee??

The IRS will be increasing their scrutiny at whether or not you are classifying the people who work for you correctly. There are clear rules about whether a worker is an employee or an independent contractor. Employers prefer IC because it’s way easier and cheaper, but that doesn’t mean it’s right. It’s more likely, not. If you’re audited on this, it can get expensive as the IRS will want all of the back payroll taxes, plus penalties.
